ABOUT ME
Peace! My name is Jarvis Burks, and I am a Licensed Social Worker with eight years of experience providing mental health services and support to teens and young men in Chicago.
I was born and raised in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the west side of Chicago, where I attended daycare, elementary school, and high school. Growing up within the same neighborhood taught me the beauty and importance of community, connection, and support. Those experiences continue to shape who I am and the work I do today.
I am passionate about supporting young men as they navigate life's challenges, build resilience, and find greater balance. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how those patterns may influence their everyday lives.
My approach is client-centered and collaborative. Therapy isn't about me telling you what to do. We work together to explore what's happening, identify what matters to you, and develop solutions that fit your unique experiences and goals.
Whether you're managing stress, navigating relationships, going through a transition, or simply looking for opportunities to grow, my goal is to provide a space where you feel comfortable being yourself. Together, we'll develop practical tools to help you move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
