How Do You Know If Your Therapist Is a Good Fit?

Finding the right therapist matters.
Consider whether you feel heard, respected, and supported. You should be able to ask questions, express concerns, and provide feedback about what is or is not helpful.
A strong therapeutic relationship does not mean your therapist will always agree with you. At times, therapy may include exploring difficult questions, challenging familiar patterns, or considering a different perspective. But those conversations should happen within an environment that feels respectful, collaborative, and supportive.
You Can Start Where You Are
You do not need to wait until things become unbearable to begin therapy.
You also do not need to know exactly what needs to change.
Sometimes the first step is simply recognizing that you want something to be different.
At Journey to Healing, PLLC, we believe meaningful change can happen one step at a time. Therapy can give you the space to understand where you have been, become more intentional about where you are now, and decide how you want to move forward.
Your story does not have to be completely figured out before you begin. You can start where you are.
